LNG export
Cameroon has been exporting natural gas since 2018. The gas from the Sanaga South field is liquefied from a floating facility, Hilli Episeyo, located off Kribi. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) production which was 1.2 million tonnes per year initially went up to 1.4 million tonnes per year in 2022.
The Floating LNG project is the first floating natural gas liquefaction plant in the world to be built as a result of the conversion of an LNG carrier. It is implemented by SNH and its partners Perenco and Golar.
